Why bet on Florida:

✅ Florida has a significant rest advantage going into the championship series, having gone 3-0 in Omaha so far
✅ That rest advantage means way more pitching flexibility, as LSU had to eat through some key arms just to get to the championship series

LSU Tigers

The LSU Tigers are not a surprising entrant into the championship series of this year's Men's College World Series. They were the number one team in the country for most of this year, and were able to sneak into the championship series with an 11-inning walk-off win over Wake Forest earlier this week. Now, LSU will look to build on the momentum of that victory in the first game of this series with Florida.

For LSU, the biggest question coming into this contest is how their pitching staff will react to their most recent triumph over Wake Forest. Paul Skenes is out of the question to pitch until a potential Game 3 in this series. But the Tigers should have most of their other arms available, as the LSU bullpen only needed to throw three innings in their win or go home win over the the Demon Deacons.

Florida Gators

The Florida Gators enjoyed a much more straightforward path to the championship series in Omaha. They won three out of three games, beating Virginia, Oral Roberts, and TCU to reach this point. Now, they come in as a slight favorite in Game 1 as the more rested team against the LSU Tigers.

The biggest edge for Florida going into the start of this series is the fact that they were able to get their pitching staff lined up for the championship series by earning some days off. Brandon Sproat will be able to pitch Game 1 for the Gators, while LSU's staff is forced to dig deeper with the aforementioned Skenes having just pitched the last game for the Tigers. It will be interesting to see if that is enough to get Florida an early advantage in this all-SEC series for the title.
